Do you know who does not own an iPod? I do not think so. It seems like everyone from his mother and father to your child now has a brother. All of these iPod into a home shared the same computer can make life a little hectic when it comes to managing each individual iTunes.
a problem for many families is that it can be somewhat confusing to handle multiple iPods on one computer. It can be even harder to manage if each iPod owner has different tastes of music. If you are not careful, you May just end up with every song from the library or worse iTunes filled with all of mom country music songs.
The solution is simple and quick to accomplish. Use iTunes to your advantage. It can easily tell the difference between multiple iPods and manage settings for all of them for you. iTunes can be configured to update each iPod with only certain playlists. Here is how you do it.
Every time you install a new iPod to your iTunes, you're going to have to give a unique name. More than likely, it would have done anyway, but it is still an important step not to forget.
Ok now that you set the name of the group for the first iPod, select "manually manage music" option and make sure it is unchecked. This prevents iTunes from adding each song in the library on the iPod.
Set tracks for each iPod. Make sure each list has a name that is clear to anyone who will use the iTunes library. Appointment title after the person who owns an iPod seems to be the most common thing to do. Right-click on the list and click rename to give it a name.
Once, they did create a different playlist, start creating a song library for each of us is through the songs you want to add. Whenever new songs added to iTunes library, be sure to add them to the appropriate list.
You're more than halfway. Everything else is pretty simple. Now, you will need to update all the sync settings for each iPod. This is done by going to "Music" tab of the window when the iPod is an iPod connected to iTunes and select the "Selected playlists". You'll need to do for each iPod. If you created a playlist, choose to sync only music to your iPod whenever it is connected.
After you are done setting all the synchronization settings, the only thing you need to do is apply those settings on each iPod. You're pretty much finished with the whole process. Head back to the main page of the iTunes Library and off manually manage music box. Each iPod will now be automatically synchronized to the appropriate list each time it is connected.
